OnePlus 6/6T faced significant poor camera quality issues which I have detailed in in this thread: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-6-camera-takes-blurry-and-noisy-pictures.864226/. However, I can't make any judgement about OnePlus 7 until I have one to test. Can you share some sample pictures? Maybe you can follow the same testing methods as I have utilized in my detailed thread.

True, file size does does vary depending on what you are taking pictures of. However, from my experience with taking pics with my LG phone camera, that I was typically getting in the 4 to 5 MB size file from the 12 megapixel camera cropped to 9 megapixel in 16:9 mode. The only way I could ever get a file in the 1to 2 megapixel size was by reducing the resolution of the file. There is no question the images on the OP7pro are considerably lower in resolution than what I have seen from other cameras around the 12 megapixel range. The only other explanation I can see that would contribute to the lower resolution is the 19:9 aspect ratio of the pictures compared to 16:9 aspect ratio pictures I have shot on my other cameras. The 19:9 pictures may use a smaller area of the native 4:3 resolution sensor. I did try taking some pictures in the pro mode and was getting around 12MB files pretty consistently. The detal looks good on those pictures. The other thing that has me questioning the resolution of the pictures and video is how they are cropped when displayed on my TV through the hdmi connection. They do not fill the full frame horizontally or vertically. The only other times I have seen this are with lower resolution files.

I've not had any issues at all with my camera or video.

Has everybody sent feedback to one plus via the community app? In the app go to profile - my feedback - then hit the plus sign - go to oneplus apps - then camera.

Also, while waiting on feedback reply.... somebody may have already suggested it but 2 things I would try: 1) go to app info for camera and clear data and clear storage. Reboot phone and try again and 2) I'd try a hard reset on the phone.

I'd love to see OnePlus separate the Camera app from the rom and have it update thru Google play.

    But definitely send feedback.

Got my OP7 Pro today, and as I suspected.... I think the original poster is NUTZ. Then again, some shots other than from his bedroom and kitchen would help. Perhaps step OUTSIDE. and no EXIF data provided.

Do all of the images you take using the main sensor come out as being 1-2mb in size?

It's a tad unfair to compare one phone to another, if only because of the software processing each phone does. A more accurate test for this would be in the "pro mode" or RAW files that haven't been molested by the camera software in post processing.

Having said all of that, I do not own a 7Pro so everything I am saying is only based on baseline knowledge of photography and not the handset :).

As for displaying on a TV, when I share some of my professional photos on any TV they usually do not fill the whole screen and this is most definitely not to do with the image size as they are always 20mb+, it has to do with how I have cropped or framed the photo that does not fit the aspect ratio.

And yet there are plenty of others that say it is great...

This demonstrates perfectly that photography is subjective. A camera can't both be rubbish and good at the same time can it? The more cynical of users will say that the good reviews must be "paid" to say as much, when the reality is that it simply comes down to - preference.

Nice creation of a thread... If it sucks return it. Ratings and other opinions say otherwise and while I use a OnePlus 6 with amazing quality I could only imagine the quality with such an amazing rating.
