Therein lies the problem. What score would the OP7P have if there wasn't an ultrawide and telephoto?

Think I will wait another 30-45 days for any current issues to be iron out before installing a GCam mod.

Apparently about a 26. What a ridiculous (shall we say deceptive) system and it does NOT clear the issue that what DXO were given and what is being sold to the public are not the same and that is 100% plain wrong.

Based on some of your input, I did contact OP Support. Nice person but either a) utterly clueless or b) been advised not to advise. Won’t know as got cut-off. So I’ve now emailed OP. I’ll post the response if I get one. Not holding my breath and now going to revisit leaving Apple for Samsung instead. Really disappointing, but a decent camera is an essential and at these prices, why on earth would you JUST SETTLE.

So glad I learned my lesson with the OP6t, and didn't buy into the hype with the OP7 Pro. Looks like OnePlus will never learn when it comes to optimizing their camera software.

I find the camera quality okay but the biggest problem is motion blur. I can't get one decent shot of a kid moving (not a lot of movement) or anything with motion indoors. Outside it may have a chance but it's 1 in maybe 30 or 40 shots. What could be the problem?

They should just hire some gcam engineers or those who have worked on the Samsung/iphone camera software. Additionally, why not leave the dynamic and color preference in the hands of the user. Add a software switch so I can choose internet poppy images or "realistic" images for myself.

Very promising phone and possibly such a good thing for the market and consumers, BUT I’m not going to layout £700 unless OP 100% gets the camera right and it doesn’t seem they can.

I was told today by a forum member that DXO give high scores simply for a phone that has multiple cameras so we shouldn't place much value on the DXO outcome. Tonight I read their web pages and they only give those high scores after significant analysis of all aspects including hundreds of tear shots, etc., which means real quality. What DXO were given to test by OP sounds wonderful. I’d like to buy that. And why they didn’t ship that camera build we can only surmise but only OP know and they are not telling us.

Like they tell us NEVER SETTLE. So I won’t.

That seems abnormally low. A 26 would basically be a potato that can't even take in focus photos with a lot of artifacts and noise to the point where it looks like an abstract painting.

You made me laugh out loud. Thanks! Yes, probably a bit unfair to OP. Let’s give it an 80?

The most common problem I've seen is that people don't actually know how to use a camera. Phone cameras are made so that every parameter is automatically defined but these combinations are not always optimal for what the user wants to photograph.
I would suggest that you read just a little bit of how cameras work and what each parameter means (aperture, shutter speed, exposure) and you'll definitely see a huge improvement.
Phone cameras are comparable to digital cameras and even some low end DSLRs, so the problem is almost always the user.
This is just a suggestion. I do not own a OP 7, just a 5T, and I've read many similar topics about 5T but I never had any issue (apart from the oily thingy that I know and understand why it's there!).
