What's your opinion on 5G?

    Comment your own opinion on 5G

    My opinion is that it's a very amazing advance in wireless technology and I'm excited for what'll be possible with it. But, I'm sort of nervous about the dangers that have popped up and the warnings about its dangers health wise. This puts me in a state of wanting this faster wireless tech but not wanting to be at risk of major health issues from it. So I been searching for alternatives that are just as if not even more fast.

    Of course it s a new, better technology. But at moment i can not see an advantage for mobile phone users, . Reason: Providers mostla sell a data plan, so the high speed data connection will just kill your data plan way faster.
    An right now there s no really neede service which is using the advantages on our phone. Be assured, providers will charge way more money to gain their investments, who s really willing to pay more and for what will user pay for???
    At all it s more a hype , like the UMTS hype some years ago.

    I think it's an extremely expensive gimmick right now. The whole thing reminds me of Sprint's awful WiMax 4G that was unstable and finicky when it first came out.

    Give it a couple of years to really flesh out before rushing to buy a 5G phone.

    2.4GHz is a frequency, 5G is a generation of wireless connection. Two very different things.

    I do not want 5g. it's dangerous and will be used as a weapon. I will terminate any 5g Service if it comes down to it.

    What? Yes, that is true that they promised an unlimited data plan for 5G lol. I didn't specify WHEN that plan would be available. But they promised the plan, and that was the point of my reply.

    Well at the moment I have a truly unlimited data plan starting March 1. So in my case, 5G wouldn't be that useless, in theory. There are no 5G networks in my country yet, so in the reality it will only be a dream.

    5G will useless for the first two years, no infrastructure in place. You have to have a network in place for something like 5G. Is there, no. Also early adopters will take the brunt of start up costs with not much to show for it. At this point 5G is simply to market a brand.

    I think it makes perfect sense on a small island like the UK for example , however , somewhere like in the US rolling out a widespread 5G signal will take some time set up carrier infrastructure.

    4G is alright for now.
    But we always need the best and so 5G will be the best option as they say so ;
    But if they fix the negative issues going on with 5G;
    Who knows maybe 5G will be in our [e]270b[/e] too .

    [e]1f60a[/e] hoping for the best ;

    Checking the prices for unlimited data at t mobile germany shows me, that it s way too expensive - and the price for a 5 G data flat will rise, that s for sure. Providers want users to pay for their expensive infrastructure .

    I found a very effective but early in development alternative, its called li-fi, or what could be 6G. I believe that we should not use 5g and jump straight to the li fi 6G thing if that's what it ends up being, so we should stick with 4G for now. thus is what I had to say after some research on alternatives

    T-Mobile stated that they will have unlimited plans even when 5G is rolled out and that prices will not rise as a result of there being 5G. So if it's expensive now - that won't change with 5G. The price shouldn't go up.

    T-Mobile don't even exist anymore in the UK they were gobbled up by EE years ago.

    Personally I'd like to see most of the UK, where practical, covered by 4G before the networks start moving on to 5G, which no doubt will be concentrated around the large Cities for the first few years of development.
