Whatsapp and other notifications issues!

Okay, I got the official stable Oreo update with Oxygen OS 5.0.1
I know its got issues with what people complain about camera, battery, phone call app, GPS errors etc etc. varies with device to device. whatever.
have any had issues with notifications? specially WhatsApp.
previously in Oxygen 4.0+ versions, we have had options to silence the notifications in both app settings and also the individual app notifications in settings, like silence the notifications and hide sensitive content on lock screen. All that was fine and then came the Oreo with notification dots.
This update sucks big time with notifications. You keep default notification tone to silent in WhatsApp app settings without vibration and go to settings>apps>WhatsApp>Notifications and select the bunch of options where no matter what you select, they all go to "Urgent" and peek on full screen and it selects default notification tone and vibrates. No matter how many times you change to individual & group messages to "medium" or "low" it goes back to "Urgent" and notification tone, and vibration and peeling on full screen comes back as if its a default and the only notification option.

does anyone have this same issues?

have checked previous threads, none reported this issue.

PS: sorry if I haven't checked enough and I am pouring in another useless thread.

Also, others who haven't got the Oreo update and who keep asking the same question again and again and making this portal a mess. Save your time and don't update even if you got one, it has its issues and you'd want to go back. Peace.

The same problem with Telegram. Clearing cache, reboot, etcetera, the usual troubleshooting won't work. Driving me crazy. OOS 4.x was working ok but the problem started with OOS 5.0 and is still on 5.0.1

that's what. the original post I created, in the screenshot you can see the notification options with Urgent, medium options. They go back to default setting called "Urgent" and WhatsApp internal app notification settings change to some notification sound and vibration turns on automatically.

I think @ravichandra04 is having some different kind of OOS. neither the stable nor the open beta has these settings in notification.

buddy where you got that OOS. can you just post a screen snap of the "about phone " here in comments section.

Saw some other thread/post from someone who had the similar issue. He didn't upload any screenshot though but claims to have the similar problem.
Not sure what and how this is came to me!
This isn't just for WhatsApp, since that's what I use primarily for messaging. Other applications have had the similar problems. System notifications alter the app notifications and modify them to make notification sound & Vibration.
Tried clear cache, data, reinstalled the official stable Oxygen OS 5.0.1 did all kinds of troubleshooting.

that's the point. you are on new app and I think that might be causing some sort of issues with notification settings.

Please friend , I think you should report it to feedback section . It needs to be solved .

and friend you are on beta release of WhatsApp.
as the stable version of whatsapp is 2.18.8
