    Try clearing cache and data from the App Info page for the Gallery app. This won't delete your images or videos

    I meant the app cache and data for the Gallery app. It isn't mentioned there. This fixed the issue for me :)

    Hey, I think I have found the root cause for this.
    Can you check and confirm if the WhatsApp folder is in the root directory of your phone?

    Mine is in the Android folder, under Media. Hence, I have to clear cache and Data for Gallery every couple of times to access the WhatsApp folder, as it tends to ignore it after a couple of times
