When will OnePlus release an update for better battery?

My OnePlus 7 pro is draining battery real quick even though I got it a week ago. This maybe coz I'm using it's recommended settings with 90hz and Quad HD. Anyways is there someway I can improve it for now?

A software update cannot give you a "better battery" as your battery is hardware!

What YOU can do though is tweak some settings and improve your battery consumption by reading and following advice here:
    https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...ting-tips-how-to-improve-battery-life.556988/
This is also a good place to ask battery related questions. There is no need for a new thread.

Edit: For what it's worth I don't think your battery stats are terrible at all. What are you expecting?

    Why?
A "better battery" would require new hardware. Better 'battery life', 'battery consumption' etc are very different and can be addressed by user or software.
I may be a little pedantic but I believe I am factually correct so gonna leave that line in for now. ;)

Nop, you aren't pedantic at all. Exactly my thoughts on how to approach something like "better battery" and "better battery life".

Okay. "Battery" is used to mean "battery life" in a general context. Why so much focus on grammar?

Content is always the king. Language and grammar are only tools for communication, and only to be viewed and understood within context.

There's nothing to argue here fellas, just abit of misunderstanding. So now that now we can hope OnePlus releases an update to boost battery life by optimizing it. Just like they did for camera and man oh man they really did a good job on it![e]1f44c[/e]

More important is your display time in combination with your settings...Apps running in background, some settings and also 90hz or not are key to battery life. 60hz e.g. gives you roughly 10-15% more battery. From a first look 32% remaining after almost 24 hours usage looks ok to me...

Also network quality/connection plays major role as well as screen settings...also when being in bright sunlight, screen is almost always with max. brightness etc...Please check your detailed battery stats esp. display usage and apps running in background (Developer Options).

My concern is that the battery isn't well optimized. Battery drains for some apps even while on off screen. Seems like I get the same battery life even though I use the phone or not.

Provide more details and we can take a look. This is mine. Check what is running in background.
