I live at the eastern base of the rocky mountains. In a state that has the smallest population in the US. The hidden gems are the mountains themselves with the wild life. Deer, Elk. Moose, Black Bear, Brown (Grizzly) bear, mountain sheep and mountain goat. Also the Tetons and Yellowstone is less than a 3 hour drive away. If you enjoy the out doors and can handle very cold cruel winters it's a nice place.

I am from Vancouver Island Canada. It is on the west coast and some call it the wet coast for how much rain we get. There is so much beauty here I just don't have enough time to capture it all in photo. But I do try to get outside every weekend. Lately I have been learning a bit about mushrooms and have found so many varieties.

The last photo is of Orange peel fungus.

Here in my home town of Comox Valley we have a race every year called the "Snow to Surf" because we can ski and surf in the same day. Our ski hill Mt. Washington is gorgeous all year round wether skiing or hiking, snow shoeing or fishing.

The views never get old from the ocean to the forest.

The three photos below are from Hornby Island which is one of our many Gems of the Comox Valley.

The beaches are plentiful and amazing to swim and explore. My family loves to explore and this summer was no different. There's one of my daughters parked on a mushroom shaped rock enjoying the scenery.

    Sunsetting on a warm night.
Am itch that needs to be scratched.
    Merlin stopped by.
Yellow throated warbler posing for a picture.
    Nuff said.
One of so many more waterfalls we have hiked to this was an easy walk.

View from the side of the road on they way up Mt Washington.
Art photo from same spot as above photo.
Another gorgeous sunset in Royston which is part of Comox Valley.
    Trent river falls.
A piece of ship left from a man-made breakwater. There was 14-15 ships sunk here.

So many Gems I could keep posting pictures. Now when covid 19 is over come for a visit. Enjoy the beauty I see everyday. A nature lovers paradise.

    Thanks for reading.

I have lived in Chicago all my life and that is not a hidden gem! It's a gem but it's definitely not hidden. So many actual hidden gem places in Chicago and you post the most known tourist attraction in Chicago. Lol.
