Why Android Pie 9.0 sucks?

    GURVIR.SINGH , Jun 27, 2019 :
I thought I have been lucky to have latest version of Android and keeping myself with time.

But the few things which destroyed it

    1. Performance which used to be the best point is now the worst thing

    2. Slow GPS, Calling, Camera and not accurate vibration and proximity sensor which is a huge disadvantage.

    Tweeks I've done.
1 cut down all the animations from developer mode
    2 not having much applications
3 no 3rd party fairly installs

    +point of 9.0 Pie

    *Battery
    *Smart changes in settings
*changes made in terms of security

Like I've mentioned in other threads, this could very well be planned obsolescence in play.

Time for a custom ROM, that warranty would be up anyway

I think the older ROM would be okay. but I don't know how to rool back to stable Orio version

I don't think it's planned obsolescence as much as Pie just being more demanding than the older OP3 / 3T hardware is capable of handling. Personally, I don't think they should have wasted their development time with Pie on the 3 / 3T and should have just left it at Oreo.

I think it's a good balance of both. Custom ROMS are a lot smoother on Pie

Yeah, it's definitely not a performance issue because of hardware it's definitely software, without a doubt.

I hope there's at least one more update to fix all this crap. It's kind of disappointing

Yeah, even though I don't own a OnePlus 3/T, judging by the negative feedback OnePlus should fix this

that's not true at all there are many custom ROMs out here which are working exceptionally well on the 3t so its pretty much the oos team which suck at giving a stable update !
although I was facing some bugs but meh it's alright I am fine with it

Yes and should have continued giving monthly security updates until 2019 November as promised . Now the last security update is 2018 November which is just 2 years but not as promised for 3 years.
Also I don't think pie is something extra for 3t because 3T released in November and by default they should have released with Android 7 making 2 updates oreo and pie by default, instead released previous version marshmallow.

When did Oneplus promise "monthly security updates until 2019 November"?

Are you sure it wasn't "1 year of extended Android security patches"?
No mention of frequency and November 2019 is still a way off. ;)

Yes. I am experiencing considerable delay in dialling contacts. Need to tap 3-4 times on contact and wait after every tap to see dialling screen appearing or not. The basic function of calling is erratic after the update.
