Why does oneplus recommend we only use their charger?

I admit that I don't know that much about tech so I was wondering what's so special about their charger that they don't recommend that we use any other charger then their own. Aren't most usb chargers the same? (I know the Oppo a1 has fast charging so that might not be compatible)

Edit: its been answered in the comments, thank you all!

No idea but what I did notice is it appeared to charge quite quickly (or at least to me).

Probably because most tankard chargers only put out about health power, and factoring in phone power usage would probably take up to 4 hours to charge.

I think all the companies do this to make people avoid using some cheap cables

I'm playing Ingress and a battery pack is required sometimes.
I hope warranty is not affected, when using battery packs

If you use a more powerful charger you risk the damage of the battery and phone.
OPO's charger has 2A output, I would even recommend less than that.

There are chargers available with higher current output, they charge the phone quicker, but at the cost of damaging your battery.
    Thanks, but no thanks.

Uhm, simply cuz they designed / built it for their phone, so they "matched" it to the spec they knew was required and there are so many different spec'd chargers that they didn't have the time / didn't even want to go through them all and give each a pass / fail spec wise.

and it's not the battery so much as it is the support circuitry around it for the power handling and charging

As long as you keep the current within 2A (or less), you won't damage your OPO!

I'm using a Samsung charger 2.1Ah with HTC cable. I don't notice anything wrong.
As soon the power supply is stable direct current with correct voltage (as for standard USB) with enough amperage, there is no reason to discriminate brands.
Of course a 1€ charger should be avoided.
