Sorry brother, I have enough reason NOT to believe your brother rather Xiaomi itself http://www.mi.com/mi3 . See the price of 16GB Mi3 = 1499yuan and 64GB Mi3 = 1999 yuan

May be your brother is talking about Mi3 clones :D

Don't believe retailers, at least for brands who sell phones in their OWN portal like Xiaomi, OnePlus. Their market is full of clones and fakes. And people buy directly from company.

DON'T BUY NOW BRO. If you need a phone better buy a RedMi 1s now for 6k and spend rest 20k for OPO in November, instead of spending 27k now !!!!

After studying this thread (mind studying :p), I am still confused as to whether wait now or to still go for the US version as they are already planning to launch in December through ECom.. Any suggestions?

    i dont think so..
They have already confirmed that the price will be in the bracket of 20k - 25k..
Also manufacturing in CHINA and shipping to INDIA will cost them less than to US/UK..
So we can see that the same price or a little less will work out for OnePlus to operate at the same profit as other countries..

    this is just my thought..
    cheers..

If you can wait for two months,, and do not have any friends in US who can collect the device for you.. may be waiting for the device makes sense,,, because most probably the 64GB version should be less than 25K... even if the price was 24999, it is OK.. You won't have to endure the shipping issues many are facing with PPO/ any third party courier guys.

Didn't someone talk about all the 4g bands and tell that 4g for the Chinese model will work in India?

Agreed. This is the same argument @SmartPhone put forward and is quite compelling.Decreasing cost of components is a very important factor.. and like i told him/her, if that is the case and the OPO sells for 20k in india(global version), I would have paid 6.5k more than what is required to own the phone just 2 months earlier. A bad business deal by any measure. However, I felt that it would be better to buy from the US coz i believed that i am getting a better product for a lower cost. I haven't been proved right yet..neither have I been proved wrong. So, we can just wait for the launch and see what happens.
Also, this thread was started as a personal opinion.. which is why I started the thread with the words "Why I Felt..." Thanks to all for the inputs :)
