tviched , via OnePlus 7 Pro , Nov 25, 2020 : I am using OnePlus 7 Pro and have manually locked the screen resolution at 1440p. But still Netflix app says that the maximum resolution the device is able to play is 1080p. Why so?
Tokolozi , Nov 25, 2020 : Because almost no content on Netflix is 1440p. It's either 1080P or 4K, and since upscaling doesn't make sense they keep you at 1080p.
GuitarBart , Nov 26, 2020 : I believe this is not advisable due to the pixel layout. 1080p x4 is 4K in pixels so thats easy downscaling but you can't half it to 1440. Then it would stretch a pixel as far as I remember. There are better videos explains this online
Tokolozi , Nov 26, 2020 : Exactly, plus you won't get any decent benefit really from it either way. Rather use the bandwidth for HDR instead of fake pixels.
