vivo is launching x21 below 30k with in display fingerprint scanner. so is Xiaomi mi8. are you the owners of op6 to feel outdated with our op6 so early? why OnePlus didn't give it to us?

When the fingerprint scanners below the screens manage to be faster than the 0.2s time that it takes for the OP6 then I’m sure Oneplus will add it.
No point adding a new technology that is not functionally better.
And for many people I talked with, fingerprint on the back is ergonomically better and more convenient.

So, because some manufacturer did something useless, 1+ should copy?
Would you ask another manufacturer to implement fast charge, which really changes life?

OnePlus marketing vision has always been improving the things which are already in the market.. and which is liked by the people and then they will implement it and they will improve it.. may be OnePlus 7 or 7t.. the tech will be affordable by then.. they will surely implement and improvise..

I doubt an Xiaomi device will be expensive so it already seems "affordable", whether it's practical or not we'll find out in a week or so.

Why don't you buy that instead?

Also, do you know its not ready for mass production?

let me ask you another question, why there is no in display fingerprint scanner in the Galaxy s9 even though Samsung has the technology to put one.rumour says that note 9 will also be not having this tech.the answer to your question is simple,in display fingerprint scanner is nowhere near as fast as current fingerprint scanner and also not that consistent and accurate

Each user has different needs that cannot be filled by any one phone. Personally, I prefer the physical sensor as opposed to the under-screen sensor, but I also realize it's an inevitability at this point. Problem is, it's slow and inaccurate. It doesn't make sense for OnePlus to add it until the technology has matured, especially with the cost to implement/design.

For me, there's only two boxes that OnePlus doesn't tick for me - but I see them as novelties, which is why I'm upgrading from my OP3 to the OP6. If you prefer one of those other phones because OnePlus doesn't tick something that they do, for all means, go for it.

You can buy it brother, no one is stopping you. It's all about user preferences. So if a device doesn't match our expectations and another one does, therest no point in waiting for it to raise bar and match with the other one.

But then don't post in vivo forums why they didn't use sd 845 instead of 660. Im sure you will regret

Rectal recognition might be coming soon, you want that ?

That under-display fingerprint sensor is not better than the sensors on OnePlus devices...

Just because it's latest it doesn't mean the other ones are outdated.
The traditional sensor is way better than the under display sensor.
Plus, do you know that it makes the screen more fragile ? Of course you don't !! You just want latest shit, whether it's useful or not

If one OnePlus had included in-display fingerprint sensor I would have just skiped op6 outright. in-display fingerprint now is like early finger print sensors on S4. Drastically slow, stupid. Why would someone prefer to have a drastically slower tech when there is already a blazing fast alternative?
