OP 7 Pro has gorilla glass 5 on the back and 6 on the front(display) but it's resistent to scratches not durable to cement impacts. It depends on how the phone fell because some spots on the display or back make just a small crack while other spots shatter it completely.

I haven't dropped a phone, accidentally or otherwise, in 10 years. Maybe longer.

I think I've dropped my OP3 at least 100 times. Had to sent it in for repair once but otherwise it's a pretty durable phone. Really afraid to use the 7pro..
I don't know how people can do this. I've dropped my OP3 not every day but I'd say at least 100 times (had to send it in for repair once, but otherwise it's pretty durable).

I'd say I drop my phone around once every month. It's actually quite enjoyable when it happens when you know it's properly protected (TGSP and Spigen Slim Armour).

I replaced my case the other week it was pretty battered from a year's worth of protection.

I drop my phones sometimes but it's rare. I've cracked screens before so I take precautions with a case and screen protector.

If your OnePlus 7 Pro falls onto cement with the glass front hitting first it is likely to break unless you have additional coverage on the device such as a tempered glass screen protector and also a drop resistant case. Even with these items applied breakage is still possible, but at a reduced risk.

According to Corning's own page, op7 pro has gg5 on both the front and the back.

You actually might be surprised to find that the newer versions of gorilla glass actually sacrifice scratch protection for better drop protection. The way it works, they can't have it both ways.

Personally I think it's unfortunate... I'd rather have a device that is relatively scratch proof. Glass is glass, and it's going to break, but older phones I've had have held up far better to scratches than any of my devices with gg5 on them.

"The main way that glass makers strengthen glass is through tempering, which can either be an intense heating process or a chemical treatment, like a salt bath. As Caltech professor of materials science William L. Johnson explains, the internal stress causes the glass to yield more easily to any introduced stress on its surface. In simple terms, that means when the glass is more tempered, it often scratches more easily."

Tests that Verge performed seem to indicate that GG3 was the most scratch resistant of the bunch. Corning doesn't acknowledge this directly, but they do admit that they have prioritized drops over scratching in the past few iterations.

that means gg5 is better in drop protection instead of scratch protection?

Yes, that is correct. It appears that it goes something like this...

    Scratch: GG3>GG5=GG6>GG4

    Drop: GG6>GG5>GG4>GG3

I'm not sure about anything before GG3.

Strange is that normal OnePlus 7 (without "Pro") Has 6th CGG on front...
And no, IT is not a problem with curved glass cuz Samsung s10+ Has curved with CGG 6.

Yeah, that is odd. I figure it is either a supply issue or more likely it cost more to get gorilla glass for the curved display vs flat/2.5d. It could even be as simple as the rest of the op7 pro was closer to cutting in to profit margins where the op7's frugal design might have had more wiggle room.
