technically they say they can't stretch it to the bottom cos they need space to attach the connector or something so perhaps one company may make a double notched phone

    Usability over design, always.

neither of you seem to understand why the notch is a big deal. no one bashed Essential for coming up with the notch, partly because they did it the best out of any company so far. but mostly cause it was out of the box thinking.
everyone is bashing Oneplus and other Chinese manufacturers because of their inability to do anything new and just doing what's "cool" at the moment. ofc, in this stupid day and age, only what Apple adopts is considered cool because of their marketing prowess. so everyone is copying apple, all the while trying to brag about how their design is "better" and justifying it and denying it's just copying the cool stupid kid.
People want to support companies that have an identity, something Oneplus has lost in the last year or so.

And yes, I know apple also copied the notch but at least they changed it, even if for the worse. besides, it's apple...we all know they like to copy others.

That's the thing. I see it as worse UX, not better.

    Yeah no.

    And apple proved that already.

The space of the notch or not is not "usability" when apps already are immersive and hide the status bar...

That's down to you. I'm not 100% sure whether or not to like the notch but in terms of raw screen space it's better ATM. Will see how the phone does in real life.

I'm not considering updating as I'm still more than happy with the OnePlus 5T, but I'm rather curious about their new device. Would love to review it, to be honest.

Second round in The Lab for you then, huh? [e]1f601[/e]
I consider an upgrade from my 5, just for the sake of upgrading to a better screen and hopefully a design that's more original. The notch definitely won't be an argument for me when considering whether or not to buy the phone. When you have all the pros and cons regarding the notch, you end up with an "I don't care" state of mind...

Not really expecting it but no harm in trying. ;)

Yup, i completely understand that. OnePlus 5T's bezels make it feel older than it actually is and it has a somewhat bland design. The leaked OP6's (starting to suspect that it won't have that name) back looks gorgeous, though.

Totally agree with you on that one. While I'm still on the fence about it, it's not a major thing for me.

Definitely! Reminds me of the OP3, which I loved and still use from time to time just for design and haptic reasons lol.

What makes you think they won't name it the 6?

You can still have front firing speakers even if there's a notch. Huawei p20 has it.
