Whats the logic behind giving Type C to Type C cable in the box with the charger?
The cable now cant be used with other power banks. Also, the cable cant be used to transfer data to laptop as most the laptop will have TypeA USB not Type C. You cant use old adapter also for charging using the cable.

Because type c to type c is the future.
Most of the new power banks and laptops have a usb c port.

My current ecosystem is still type A USB. Best is to give a converter in the box like they did during 3.5mm to typ c transition

Why add to e-waste? If it is a problem for a very few, then they should get a new cable or a converter.

Do companies really care about e-waste. All 3.5mm earphones were forced to become e-waste to sell more bluetooth earphones.

Whether they care or not, it is e waste.
Most of the new gadgets come with a type c port.

And with the new charger, we can use it for multiple purposes like charging laptop, powerbank, pd delivery and not only phone. So a single cable for all.

That you can do with Type A to Type C cable also. I agree most the devices are coming with Type C port, but why do we need Type C to Type C
Type C on one side is more than enough. By shifting to Type C to Type C, we are again making all the existing charging bricks e-waste.

You are just trying to justify your point. With this logic of yours, we could have continued with type a to type a or micro USB. Why progress to type c?
    Progress is everything.

Hope in this way to future, Oneplus is not following the Apple path. Today type C to type C, tomorrow no charging bricks. Like it happened with fingerprint, face unlock, 3.5mm

You know what's apple is doing? Transitioning to type c to type c too. But you won't get it.

It's both. You said about using existing ones. That's where I brought the progress point.

There is absolutely no point in freaking out about Type C to Type C. Everyone hates change but eventually adapt... You will adapt as well.

The Type C cable enables fast charging and faster speeds, while reducing latency as there's no conversion layer involved.

PS. Use the filedash feature in file explorer app to transfer files between phones as well as PC wirelessly. I've personally never had to use a cable to transfer data at all. I see absolutely no reason why a Type C to Type C cable should be a problem. If you have any use case where you're not able to use the said cable, I can suggest alternatives without the need to shell out extra money

I think it has to do with power delivery. Most of the higher wattage chargers are C to C. Lower wattage use A to C
