What you say is true, not everyone is so greedy. Unfortunately the greedy people widely outnumber those who are not greedy...

the ONLY thing I can think for them to do so is to hold back the additional invites until the demand is lessened. while there will still be a market created by people who sell the phone they buy with their original invite for profit, fewer will do so than would do with the extras - and even less if they know it could be months until they get the additional ones to replace it

if there are enough invites out there... the mark-up else where will not be significant.

I am a new member. Just recently heard about this fantastic device from a family member. If I ever received an invite, I would definitely send it to veteran members here that actually want the phone and not to make a quick buck.

there are a lot of scum bags on this forum. Ive been here a long time. Ive been waiting a long time. I don't care that a noob has only waited 1 day. I just want EVERYONE to get a invite without any BS like a lot of us had to do.

Well I'm giving mine when I get it mostly because I promised to give it to people on here.

And no offense to those ebay sellers ..I'm not a ******* moron. This company is a start up so any problems this phone has in the future would be on my *** not one plus ones because I sold it to them. For a extra 300 bucks it's not worth the headache. Ebay and paypal are very serious about making sure the customer is happy. A customer has 45 days to report any problems and they get a full refund from you.

So say that yellow screen happens to show up. Customer wants there money back.. But the money I made off the phone is long spent..guess who has to refund the person. Me...not OPO.

Doesn't matter what you say in the auction. Paypal and ebay don't care.

So ya again even if I was in it to make a buck I wouldn't. Just not worth the risk. It isn't a slam dunk. Plus I keep my promises. ^^

This has all been said before. The system isn't effective because there aren't enough available invites in the first place. The forum membership is growing by over 1000 members daily, especially since the contest started. 2500 invites is hardly going to make a dent.

The problem with that approach is immediately obvious... the guy who joined right after me a few weeks ago has never posted anything nor participated on the Forum! He's still a New Member!!

Holding back the invites would make it worse. I was thinking more along the lines of a single pay pal account can only buy a limited amount of phones (e.g. 2). But people can always make more paypal accounts, so maybe link it to IP addresses as well?

But that's why the invites expire. Then it moves onto the next member.

That would take time, money and people and probably detract from production efforts seeing as how slowly the are able to produce these phones to provide to consumers in the first place.

you gotta see the big picture.

if this phone succeeds we all win. they can totally disrupt the market and force other manufacturers to either bring prices down or give us a whole lot more for our money.

when you support a company like 1+, you're actually supporting yourself.
