Exactly. Never heard of it either. Options that skip some older standards, yes. But everything but AX? 🤷

Yes but both him and I are curious on the router model. I have never heard of a AX only mode.

now I contacted Tp link technical support, checked everything, and found out that the problem is only in the phone itself, it can't work in Ax-only mode, the problem is in the phone module

Then it would be great if you could report this via the feedback tool and give them logs if they ask for further info.

@N1637431097149 I can't really tell what router that is (no way to decipher the router-page, from a .jpg file, and I don't speak/read whichever language that is?
Either way, as I see it, you have one solid option here, if you actually plan on using the router in that mode, which is to file a bug with OP:Feedback - OnePlus Community
Seems like unless you have >1 SSID, you'll be locking out almost ALL of your devices from the connection, certainly ALL the IoT devices out there, how many support 802.11ax, likely VERY close to zero(0) o_O...

They'll have you repro this, likely with some additional logging settings enabled, and then upload the logs for them to debug. It's likely not a huge issue, on their side, I'd bet, probably more about this being an "odd case"/oversight, at this stage of WiFi6 deployment (it IS a good edge-test-case however, ultimately, IME/IMO), where having an WiFi6-only SSID/router isn't very useful, again IMO/IME. We have an unusually high number of WiFi6 devices in our household, I'd say, a grand total of 4, out of almost 60 regularly connected devices, for example. ;)

    Hmm, editing, I think this is your router: Archer AX73 | AX5400 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router | TP-Link?
If so, you'll only be able to deploy one(1) SSID, so if you set it up with 802.11ax-only, that's the only device(s) that will be able to connect: se areArcher AX73 V1 User Guide | TP-Link
You can set up your router however you like, but I sure wouldn't do this, at this stage, pretty much ALL the WiFi6 deployments are mixed-mode, and likley will be that way for quite some years...
I run SMB network gear at home, several AccessPoints, with a controller, and I sure haven't seen any mention/ask, for a 802.11ax-isolated SSID (I can deploy 12 SSIDs on my controller/APs, so maybe it might make sense, for testing something, although I don't think it'd really help much, in terms of throughput...), as of yet. I sort of "poked around" other SMB AP current specs, too, and am not seeing anyone offering this, currently.

Yep, exactly, you'd be able to connect a couple of high-end phones, and I have one PC with a WiFi6 card, and we have 1 tablet that meets this spec, woohoo. With only one(1) SSID, on that router, that's it, nothing else can connect, eh? o_O:D

@N1637431097149, I will say that I think this is kind of a cool edge-case you found, in terms of testing, not trying to negate that, in any way. And I do think OP will be interested in fixing this, for a variety of reasons...
I just don't see the use-case though, at this stage, that's my deal, unless you're using this router as an Access-Point, for 802.11ax-ONLY connections? Even still I don't really see it, as it'll likely cause interference with all your other 5.8 signals, but maybe you've some some super-isolated setup here?

I don't understand what you're talking about, I have 2 devices connected in the mode, xiaomi poco f3, and a laptop, they work without problems in Ax-only mode, without any problems. What do I need to do to connect one OP 9 pro

File a bug, in terms of getting the OP 9 Pro issue looked at (see above).

My question wasn't about what devices CAN connect, it was more about "what about all the rest of the devices that you might want/need to connect", those that don't support 802.11ax.
The reason you don't see this mode much, at this point, is that the VAST majority of devices are still back on 802.11ac, and another big lot (more/most IoT at this point, hopefully) are stuck back on n or g. It's not that this isn't an interesting bug, and needs to get fixed, it's just an odd "use case", IMHO, currently.

Yes, you need to report this via the feedback tool. Only you or someone else having the same problem can gather info that helps Oneplus to fix the problem.

The problem is not questioned in anyway. It's just pointed out that it is a rare option to have and that most won't use a router that way due to many other devices not supporting AX. It is still a problem that needs to be looked at. But they need logs and info from someone with the problem.

    Yep, @N1637431097149, this, exactly.
My comments were entirely about the relative rarity of the bug, but it's a COMPLETELY valid bug.
And, as @Swejuggalo mentions, you're one of the few with the right h/w (firmware, technically) to repro this, so it can be fixed (by OP)...

Any possibility of reporting this to Oneplus via the feedback tool so they can get info of this problem?
Amongst the other confirmed phones that work none is SD888. That would be interesting to see if other SD888 works.
