Received my OnePlus 5 yesterday and got an update 4.5.1
After finishing update and setting up the phone, I m facing an issue with WiFi connection. Phone drops WiFi connection frequently, though it is connected on wifi network but it says No internet connection. At the same Time I checked on other phone it has internet in same wifi.
I have to Turn Off Wifi and again on it or have to reboot the phone to make it work again.
I also tried clearing chache but it didn't work.
    Pls help...

I'm also facing exactly the same issue, after installing the Oxygen OS update for 4.5.1. However, if I toggle WiFi off and back on again, it occasionally starts working again. Lets hope they identify the issue quickly, otherwise our 3/4G data usage will soon be rising!

I've contacted customer support and they are aware of this issue and are looking into it. The rom team has been informed of the issue. The issue is prioritized so it seems :p. They propose to do a hard reset, but I don't believe that would solve anything.

I have the same issue. It's really annoying. Most likely a software issue.

I have the same issue, but only with the wifi extender. My regular wifi works perfectly fine, but whenever I switch to the extender, it never works. Do you think this is a oneplus issue, or should I contact my internet provider? (cause the wifi extender works with any other device in the house).

I am sure it is an issue with the OP5

On my OnePlus5 running OxygenOS 4.5.1, connecting to 2.4 GHz performed better than 5GHz AC where it was timing out during speed tests and pages loaded slower. After turning off Smart WiFi switcher on settings of WiFi screen as suggested by sonali93p, it is performing well with speed tests as well as loading pages.

So it seems to be that it's not playing nice with DFS in the 5GHz Wifi Spectrum , static 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz should work

    Workarounds are
    - disable DFS on your router, but this impacts every device on teh WIFI
    - disable the 5Ghz band on your phone

(it doesn't seem to be resolved yet in 4.5.2)
