WiFi Issues, Packet Loss?

    Picked up the 128GB model from the London popup yesterday and did the OTA update this evening. Am experiencing severe WiFi issues now which is quite concerning, this happens on both 2.4 and 5 ghz bands. My OP2 and other devices do not exhibit any issues.

    Has anyone else encountered similar? Despite a good signal connected at over 120 mbit I appear to be experiencing packet loss. It can take several seconds to start a track via Spotify, google searches will time out, LAN file transfers (ES file explorer) will sometimes fail. 4g does not have these internet issues. Router is the Virgin Super Hub 3.

    Unrelated: it's a little frustrating 5 posts are required on these boards before creating a new thread is possible. I feel like I've had to spam other people's posts to avoid the forum anti spam measures .

    haven't noticed any issue with my plusnet home hub so far, have you tried with other routers see if you have the same issue?

    My only Wifi problem at the moment is that the OP5's signal is much weaker than the one from the OP2.

    also have really bad wifi issues pretty much unusable on 5ghz AC

    edit 5GHZ AC unusable have to use 2.4 N for it to work at all with reliability

    exact same issues as OP wifi connection is absolutely terrible, updated to latest oxygen OS.

    Booted to recovery did full wipe, issue persists

    Yeah same issue here, really bad wifi when im too room next to the rooter, i hope they can fix it with an update or something

    My wifi cuts in and out every now and then. A quick turn off of wifi and then back on solves it. But it is quite annoying. My OPO was like this, but wayyyyyyyyyy worse

    I'm having the same issue on and off. Unable to connect on LTE to some apps as well.

    Are you guys using the 6GB model?

    I ask because my family ordered one of each. And my 6GB model was DOA in terms of WiFi and LTE out of the box. My 8GB model had a ton of freezes and reboots upon initialization, but has been working fine since using all bands of every radio.

    It's starting to look like the 6GB models all either have faulty chips or a bad OOS image. Either way, OnePlus really needs to get ahead of this if they expect to keep my money.

    My wifi was horrible last night when I first started it. It won't update and won't connect to Play Store. After turning it on/off and switching from 2.4 to 5Ghz, it has not flaked out since.

    Glad it worked for you. My 6GB OP5 WiFi was DOA regardless of which band. 8GB model set to "auto" works just fine.

    I can't tell if it's a bad chip run or a bad batch of OOS flashes.

    Having Wifiproblems too. After 5 Minuten or so it wont Transfer any Data and i have to Turn Off WiFi and Turn it Back on to get it working again. really tedious. Hooefully thus ist only Software related and will be fixed by OP

    For me it helped to turn off the automatic switching between mobile data and wifi as well as changing to the 2,4 GhZ band. Can anyone confirm this as a work around?

    have to correct myself from the first post. I'm having several issues connecting thru wifi, not such a smooth experience as they claim... notice with videos mostly they keep buffering all the time .

    When on 5GHz wifi, I have to disconnect and reconnect about every 5 minutes because pages suddenly stop loading and the speed in speedtests drops to 0. Customer support has scheduled a remote session later today to reinstall the OS.
