Will Oneplus be around next year if the OnePlus 2 flops?

Since Oneplus 2 doesn't have nfc, will it flop and cause the company to go bankrupt?

  1. Yes! What were they thinking excluding nfc from a "flagship killer"!

The 1 was already unexpected sales success without the fan base. Look at the big fan base they build up in a year. I expect the 2 might even be a bigger success. If opo learned off the poor CS last year it definitely will be a success.

NFC is not a really usefull thing for the masses. May be usefull on the future, when you'll be able to use your phone as substitute for the other NFC devices like cards and readers for daily application(my point of view, forgive me if I'm wrong).

They won't flop... They already have made name for themselves.. all they need is to reach out for more markets... new countries... with the features like these under US$400, ppl will buy it.

Can't you get stick on things that do the same as nfc?
Can't see this being a flop. For an extra few £'s I'm amazed ita not included though.

A lot of phoen companies have had flop even in their flagship. SGS4 or iPhone 4. Even if OP2 flops Oneplus will be around and make a hopefully great comeback with OP3

I think they will be around. There was quite the hype last night. I don't really use NFC, but I wish it had an SD card slot.

I just realized that I had NFC for a long time and was turned on maybe twice. By the time it can be used worldwide for payments there will be OP3 with it. Currently it is a let down for the countries where such services aee available.

They have time to develop the OP6 before NFC gets real usages.
I'm not convinced that NFC is a must have for nextgen smartphones, if you consider phone market lifecycle.

The OnePlus 2 won't flop. But imho it won't cause such a #hype like the outstanding OnePlus One. No other phone was able to top the OP1 in terms of price and features. Simply amazing. But let's talk about today. And we have e.g the Moto X Style. And more interesting smartphones to be launched soon. OnePlus will notice that there's a lot more competition for the OP2. But i think that they will sell a good numer of the OP2 as well. Though i think many undecided fans will keep an eye on the first reviews ---

I never said anything about a reservation equaling a sale, please dont put words in my mouth, but if you look at rates of pre-ordered games you will find its quite indicative of how financially successful the title is. My feeling is the attention this phone is getting and the success of the original will translate to selling at least 3-4x what the original did.

Yes and I was one of those signing up too - doesn't mean I'm gonna buy the phone now that I've seen it launched. New Moto X range revealed the next day - talk about stealing the OP2 thunder!

Considering it is amazing spec, it will live forever ... man,The most important spec for OnePlus has always been price. The original OnePlus One was $300, about half of the $650 asking price for an off-contract flagship phone. The Two bumps that up a little: $390 for the top-of-the-line, 4GB RAM/64GB memory version, or $330 for 2GB/16GB.
