Thanks for hosting another great contest, david!
So, here's my submissions for the Animal Photos challenge:

First, this is probably one of my favorite pictures I've taken on mobile, it's used in my profile pic after all! I took it with my OnePlus 5 almost a year ago now. It was taken without portrait mode, and all that bokeh is actually from just being so physically close to the subject. Being one of the early photos I took with the device, the image quality really blew me away.
I was doing some painting outdoors when I saw a gorgeous little beetle doing yoga on a flower, not much more to it than that :)

This next picture was taken with a 2x clip-on lens on a trip out to a harborfront, at about 4x software zoom on my OnePlus 5T.

The sun was shining harshly after a bout of cloudiness, so anything white was absolutely glowing when shone on. I noticed that the incredibly bright contrast of some swans to the water was really pretty, but unfortunately they were a bit far out. With a 2x clip on lens and plenty of digital zoom, I managed to get one clearly in frame. I thought it was sort of cool the amount of bokeh the cheap 2x telephoto lens introduced into the distance of the shot, keeping the swan in pretty good focus. When I took the shot, it looked like it was coughing up water or something, I guess even a creature as majestic as the swan isn't immune to looking silly at times!

Lastly, this final picture was taken on my OnePlus 5T through one side of a pair of binoculars (if you look through only one side, is it a monocular?) during a picnic, with seagulls crowding around for leftovers. I estimate the zoom level to be around 8x. All the editing was done with Pixlr.

Now, there's nothing inherently great about this picture, just a really close up shot of a seagull through some cheap binoculars(notice all the blurring and chromatic aberration around the edges). However, I've never really looked at a seagull this closely before, and in the picture I immediately noticed something interesting. A quick crop in, and a mirroring of the image later, well... you can see the result for yourself.

    The Long waiting.....

Taken by - oneplus 3t, stockcamera, HDR on
    ISO 800, Aperture f /2.0

    And no external lens used

This pic was taken by me in srilanka at a beach resort which we stayed last night. This Doggy there, which tied to the chains is waiting for its owner who went surfing. Its soo emotional to me, as soon as i saw the sadness in its face. For me it feels like its worried alot about the owner who is not returning from surfing.

The Birds and the Bees (plus a Butterfly!)

    The Bees
    1533141111231.jpg
    Where: In the garden
Why: Due to the hot summer we've had in the UK, many wildflowers have died early. As a result hundreds of bees are everywhere in my garden, which has acted as an oasis for the little fellas!

    The Butterfly
    1533141111273.jpg
    Where: The woods
Why: I was walking along minding my own business when I looked down and saw this little guy! He blended in so well, I almost stood on him

    The Bird
    View attachment 809752
    Where: My garden
Why: Sadly this little starling chick fell out of the nest. It's sibling, which also fell, didn't survive the fall. It was a very hot day, 32C, and he was clearly struggling. I left him in the shade with some mealworms and water so he could cool off if he needed to. Later, I saw the parents feeding him. Hopefully now he has fledged and is flying free!

    All were edited with Snapseed.
Pictures were taken on my OnePlus 6!
