Would you rather root or downgrade to Nougat to achieve better battery life for your OnePlus 3T?

Hi guys, I'm currently using Oneplus 3T running with Oxygen OS 4.5.1 with a good SOT. So I've realised we have issue with the battery after Oreo update was released.

Not long ago I post a guide on how to downgrade your 3T back to Nougat. However, there were afew comments n nasty comments made by people such as RASTAVIPER whom suggest rooting is a solution for the Oreo update. When I read his guide on how he did it, I swear to god it is the most complicated guide to solve battery issue.

So community, tell me, would you rather do a simple step in just downgrading and wait for OnePlus to fix the Oreo firmware or would you rather root, change kernal, installing tweaks?

People who are here to make offensive remarks such as RASTAVIPER (Which clearly ik is going to reply given he's an active user who thinks he knows alot) shouldn't reply and just ignore this thread.

I'm not an expert but I am trying to help so if you're not here to help don't reply.

None of those are guaranteed solutions to battery life, which depends almost entirely on what apps you use and your app usage.
Don't single out users. If you have an issue with something someone posted, hit the report button, crying about it doesn't help anyone.

My 3T running OOS 5.0.1 regularly sees 6~7hrs SOT with 18~24hrs+ of usage on average, using Magisk and Franco Kernel.

I highly suggest FK, it can also be used without the need of rooting your device.

How on earth do you expect any help, when you can't do the very basics of error reporting? From your post it appears you installed Oreo had a problem with the battery, over an unknown timeframe, and downgraded.

A bare minimum for anyone to provide meaningful help, is detailed battery stats, and a summary of what you have tried (which at the very least should include reading and implementation of the advice in the battery thread). Without that your just another cupcake yellling battery draining .

you should have reported the user instead of calling him out.

on your subject the latest beta has enormous battery time, so no need to downgrade, root or use of different roms

Not in my experience, no. They're usually sorted out in internal and closed beta tests, wouldn't be nice to give the community those bugs, right? ;P
