Oxygen 5.0.2 is available for download but it suck your battery life like hell...I don't believe if some one says using Oreo they are having no issues or they are moderate user not the heavy one...I reinstall Oxygen 5.0.1 and my battery seems to be ok let's see for any new fix provided by one plus.

Unfortunately there's no magic here, everyones usage is different.

Though, you could change some settings to help get the most out of what you get, the only additional tweaks I've done other than flashing FK are,

    1. I use Naptime to control Doze, nothing else.

    2. Using FK Manager (Root required)
    # Reduce Max brightness 40%
    # Enabled backlight dimmer

I also don't install any unnecessary apps that eating up my resources running in the background, like no snapchat, Facebook, WhatsApp.. etc.

As I think of things, I'll add more to this reply post.

You are the biggest TROLL ever!!!
First you make 4-5 different useless posts at my guide-thread
    https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...o-get-6-hours-of-screen-on-time-on-3t.625748/

Then u come here and claim that I am not allowed to post? Who do u think you are?
Especially when you admit that you have no clue about rooting and advanced tweaks. People who don't understand, they don't make insults or stupid comments. They just ask and try to understand.
But no, you prefer to insult people who know more than you and then you try to play it that you are the victim??

So what is the point of this thread? Obviously you don't understand or you are not willing to understand how rooting, installing custom kernels etc can help with Oreo updates.

Nobody is restricting you with them..
Rather they are stating that these social media apps are one of the reasons for a battery drain to occur.

The problem is How to fix the battery drain? So the solution should be ,Steps to fix the battery drain. Rooting will lapse your warranty and if you are limit yourself from installing apps then why should we go for OnePlus, better we can buy Mi note 5 like device.

    First and foremost.
Get you facts straight about Rooting the oneplus device ,the warranty thereafter ( which is still valid ) and the apps that could pose problem when root detected ( there is solution to overcome this).

    A) Thanks at least I can troll u lol
    B) Ik exactly what root is. I've rooted many phones via Magisk or SuperSU.
    C) I'm the creator of this threat. N yes I said you cant post but I also said u will still post so wats wrong with tht?
    D) The point of this threat is for the community to decide whether to root or juz downgrade.
    E) As stated above by many users, rooting or installing kernal is only a temporary fix. There's new suggestions of installing beta rom which sounds alot easier than following your complicated method.
F)You know more then me? Then congratulations idc. Yes I am the victim. You were the one who started insulting me when I was trying to teach people how to downgrade.

To conclude, if you are not here to help or give suggestions then you should jus ignore this threat and move on with giving people your "100% fixed method" aka most complicated method I've ever seen or it's because you don know how to explain. Don think of this as an insult ya? Have fun at keyboard worrior-ing on me. ( I won't reply to your comments I'll just assume u're a childish kid who cant handle a little insult) byee:)

Whatsapp and Facebook are acknowledged battery hogs. Believe it or not many users have uses for smartphones that don't involve social media.

You could always try reading the existing battery threads.

OnePlus are quite explicit on this point, Rooting will not void your warranty.

Yes that is true if you use root to remove hardware restraints and fry your hardware then you might have issues, but under EU law software modifications do not void hardware warranties.
