#WWYDFT2 - owning up Aug 13, 2015

Anyway, it's time to own up. I made a thread about how we're working hard to stop cheaters from winning the WWYDFT2 contest, and a couple of days later we announced 22 winners. As many of you pointed out, there were some likely cheaters in that list. At the time of publishing we had very limited information and we really didn't want to punish legitimate entries.

We thought the list of actual votes was so big it was irretrievable - well, this morning I got it in my inbox and six hours later we've cleaned it as much as possible. The list allowed us to better discern real from fake votes by looking at unique IPs, voting intervals and email patterns. Some of you suggested we just disregard the votes and choose ourselves, and although it's tempting, it would be wrong to the people who asked their friends and family to vote for them.

This new and improved list of winners is, thus, based on a number of factors: actual unique IP votes (yeah, it's possible you convinced your entire school of 5000 people to vote for you, but not with exactly 5 seconds in between each vote for 5 hours straight. come on), subjective quality, Youtube views and plagiarism factor. Oh and we're not changing our minds this time. These people deserve to win.

As before, the top 122 will also receive invites. Without further ado, here you are:

But that could have changed or it may be different from area to area I'm not sure

Mine said it could take 15-20 days to process, but it only took one day : ) just got my tracking number
