Today saw the Mi Mix Folds first flash sale and it sold over 30,000 units in a minute, showing there is a growing interest and the market is starting to shift at the top end.
This now also shows that Xiaomi have now bridged the gap and now reside at the top table with Samsung, Apple and Huawei.

The Mi Mix Fold was made available today in these formats
    12/256GB @ CNY9,999 (approx $1,530)
    12/512GB @ CNY10,999 (approx $1,680) 16/512GB @ CNY12,999 (approx $2,000)

Up next a Samsung foldable tablet?

    Pretty impressive.

Xiaomi has really been playing catch up, ever since Huawei left the building.
Xiaomi and Samsung has earned their "most improved of the year".
Can't wait for the fold 3 and z fold tablet.

You can say what you want but Xiaomi is an impressive brand. There latest flagship phone (forgot the name) with that impressive camera is something I would actually consider, although they are not cheap anymore

Although it is likely to be true, but you know these numbers can be faked.

And you forgot to include OnePlus in the top table. :)

I got a 8/256 Poco F3 with wireless buds on the way for £288 whilst the OP8 is still out there at over £400, So I would say Xiaomi a are still very much on the field of play and even Realme can't match them.
The Poco is now representative of let's say the old Mi6, 8,9, the Mi10 onwards has moved up market.

It's nice to see more getting I to this market of foldable phones as it should hopefully help competition, innovation and possibly lower prices.

Here is a TCL concept that adds a rollable to the foldable ;):D

That would be interesting if they actually ever bring it to market.

The fact that Xiaomi sold 30K will probably gain attention and others will want in on the action and start developing their own foldable phones, screen protectors may become a thing of the past (eventually).

That is very similar to the OPPO concept, maybe because TCL are actually providing oems with screens on the quiet. 🤫🤫🤫

I will be definitely looking at one this year having seen refurbished pristine Fold 2 at sub £800 with a warrenty.
