Hello anyone noticed that YT start facing huge battery drain issues it's in the top off the list over screen and Android system idk if it's a bug in the app or it's in Oreo update, i updated recently and don't have this issue in 4.5.1 Nougat.

Well what do you expect? YouTube is a battery hog because your watching movies (sometimes in FHD). Battery uses screen and GPU so it is going to drain more battery.

Oreo is a little heavier than Nougat. You do realize that? Wiping cache and also some tips to prolong battery life work, but YouTube will drain the battery no matter what. You can also try some alternative apps instead of YouTube. Some apps are lighter version of the YouTube app.

If you've already wiped cache to no avail or reset your device to factory default or tried using another app...

Yes, but they are optimized either way. The Google Play Services and Facebook and other social media apps are the culprit. The social media apps are poorly coded and so the battery drain persists. Google Play Services always runs in the background and sometimes it is hard to stop it unless you root and install Custom ROM.

All works fine except the battery drain, in nougat youtube never reached over 10% of total battery life, now in Oreo it's more than 25%.
