YouTube Signature devices

    XTREMEPRAVIN25, Aug 10, 2018 :
So, YouTube recently released a list of their 'Signature Devices' that must support VP9 2, 360 Video, DRM, 4K decoding, and high frame rates and... HDR... I'm pretty sure the OnePlus 6 doesn't support HDR; so is this an issue on Google's part or does the OnePlus 6's display actually support HDR?

I think it's valid for the Android P builds.

I don't have washed out colors at all btw. (Android P DP3)

Hmm, doesn't make sense for OnePlus to activate a hardware feature through a software update- also Google even mentions that the OnePlus 6 runs Oreo- not P. I feel like this is a mistake on Google's part

actually it can be enabled by software, razer phone doesn't have HDR display if am correct but it supports HDR, only thing is HDR 10 i am not sure about. iPhone X also doesn't have HDR display if i am not wrong but it supports HDR Netflix. so it seems it can be enabled via a patch.
i m still confused as op6 has HDR support or not. YouTube HDR fluctuations like crazzy for me also not a big fan of those HDR videos personally.

Nope, the screen has hardware support for 10bit color depth. So, it does pass the specifications for true HDR10 and Dolby vision. Its a true HDR display.

the amoled is capable of hdr but it's not 10 bit, so it's kinda hdr but not the real deal, you can watch hdr content on Youtube, download Luke Cage/stranger things in HD and see if you feel something is different
